Fastfrate Group is seeking an Operations Supervisor for our Calgary, Alberta office. The Operations Team is fast-paced, professional and growing. You’ll bring excellent people and communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and the drive to achieve goals.
- Accountable for the daily on-time execution of outbound linehaul from the terminal
- Responsible for the productivity and efficiency of dock workers and drivers
- Support and backup for inbound and outbound lead hands, as well as dispatch
- Coordinate and book linehaul carriers daily, including any spot rate negotiation required
- Rail detention management
- Perform linehaul and driver audits
- Ensure compliance with company processes and procedures
- Champion and ensure implementation of new initiatives with the terminal
- Additional duties and responsibilities related to the operation as delegated by the manager
- LTL experience in the trucking industry required
- Knowledge of loading procedures, trailer capacities and legal weights
- Previous supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment
- Dangerous goods certification is an asset
- Ability to work with minimal supervision under pressure and time constraints
- Strong attention to detail
- Solid interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), organizational, and time management skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and email
- Must have a clean criminal record check
