Cross Border Trucking Services

Our company has extensive experience serving the Canadian market’s cargo and transportation needs. Since our inception more than 50 years ago, we have built a strong reputation that is reliable and thorough. Thus, our natural evolution brought us to the U.S., where we offer comprehensive and detail-oriented cross-border trucking services. We are proud to maintain our reputation and expand our shipping options to new and existing clients.

What’s Involved in Cross-Border Transport?

Cross-border services refer to moving goods from their original loading point to another destination country. Industries that work closely with Canadian or American partnerships and markets often need products shipped seamlessly between numerous locations. Crossing the border involves additional steps compared to other LTL shipments due to the regulations imposed on goods by the original and terminus country. In some cases, your products may have to be inspected or reviewed before they can be approved to continue on their journey.

At Fastfrate, we consider all pieces that make up the cross-border shipping puzzle. We ensure that your cargo arrives on time and safely, with the proper documentation.

Cross-Border Paperwork

Businesses familiar with shipping to the U.S. will understand the depth of paperwork involved to ensure their goods clear customs. Those who have yet to transport products to this market may be keen to realize the details of information required to ensure their shipment goes smoothly. When you choose Fastfrate for your cross-border trucking services, we leverage our dedicated customs expertise. We’ll stay on top of the documents needed to move your cargo from Canada to the U.S. These include:

  • Bill of lading (BOL). This lists all products included in the shipment. Other pertinent details include the address for pick-up, size and weight specifications, and contact details for both the sender and recipient.
  • Packing slip. In this document, all product details can be found, including the order date, products included, and the quantity of each.
  • Commercial invoice. This paperwork is required for shipping goods to the U.S. It describes the shipment and its value.
  • Canada customs invoice. Similar to the documentation mentioned above, this paperwork is needed for goods coming into Canada from the U.S. It provides a full rundown of the cargo.
  • Certificate of origin. Per regulations, a certificate of origin denotes where cargo is being shipped from to allow for the proper collection of customs duties.

Depending on the goods you need to be transported, they may require additional paperwork. Our cross-border shipping services can alert you of any discrepancies or added documentation before leaving the point of origin to ensure your items don’t face difficulties at the border.
